On Friday 4th September we joined the European Coaster Club for a day at Thorpe Park. The was also a ERS (Exclusive Ride Session) on Saw: The Ride once the park had closed to the public. We managed 7 rides in a row during the session.
Saw: The Ride - My Review
Well I can honestly say we all loved it, it made all them miles worth it. I don't know what planet I've been on, but I was not expecting Saw to do what it did in the dark section of the ride. It was a brilliant surprise and it's my best part of the ride, how you miss them blades and spikes is amazing. I also got wet going through the first inversion before the lift hill. The dead body on the floor under the inversion threw water up to hit you in the face, I don't think anyone was expecting that.
We managed 7 rides in a row during our ERS, the ride op's were great too, high fives and thumbs down instead of up to send the ride, it just added to the experience of the ride. I rode in the front and back, and found the back seats are a smoother ride, of course the front offers great views. The pre show (should you be in the 2nd train) I couldn't really hear.
The theming on the ride is really good, you can tell a lot of thought and effort has been put into it, it makes the ride in my opinion. The first drop is really good too, I was quite surprised at the speed you take the inversions. The MCBR (Mid Course Brake Run) was nonexistent so offered some crazy air time as you leave the section, which in turn made the final inversion even more crazy and the mid ride air time hill offered really good air time too.
I was highly impressed with Saw: The Ride, and would like to thank Thorpe Park and the ECC, who made it all possible, otherwise it would have been a 90 min wait during the normal open hours.
We also met 3 new friends during this trip, which is what these coaster trips are all about. They are called Andy, Lasse (came all the way from Denmark to be here) and Sue.
